Files

Using the files functionality on the platform

The Files feature allows you to upload PDF documents and interact with their content using the AI. You can ask questions about the document, summarize sections, and extract specific information.

Uploading a File

  1. Navigate to Files: Click the "Files" button in the chat box.

  2. Upload File: Click the "Upload File" button.

  3. Select File: Choose the PDF file you want to upload from your computer.

  4. Upload: The file will be uploaded and processed by the application. You will need to hit the refresh icon until the processing status reaches "SUCCESS" before you can select it.

Interacting with a File

  1. Start a Chat: Click the new chat button.

  2. Select File: Click the "Files" button and select a file with the processing state "SUCCESS"

  3. Ask Questions: Ask questions about the content of the file in the chat. For example:

    • "What is the main topic of this document?"

    • "Summarize the findings in this paper"

    • "What is the author's conclusion?"

  4. Receive Citations: The AI will provide responses and include citations referencing the relevant sections of the PDF document. You can click the citation button to go directly to the relevant page.

Managing Files

  • Deleting: You can delete files by clicking the "Delete" icon next to the file in the Files list.

  • Organizing (Workspaces): Files are organized within Workspaces. You can share files with other users by adding them to a shared workspace.
