Models
Configuring and enabling access to models on the platform
The Model Configuration section allows platform administrators to manage the AI models available within the General Intelligence Platform. This includes adding compute resources from various vendors and enabling/disabling specific models based on your organization's access and security requirements. This ensures your users have access to the latest AI capabilities while maintaining control over data processing and vendor relationships.
Access: This section is only accessible to users with the platform administrator role.
Key Concepts
Compute Vendor: A company that provides access to AI model processing power (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Cloud, AWS, a custom in-house server).
Model: A specific AI model offered by a compute vendor (e.g., GPT-4, Claude 2, DeepSeek R1).
Enabled/Disabled: Controls whether a model is available for use within your organization.
Accessing Model Configuration
Log in as Administrator: Ensure you are logged in to the General Intelligence platform with an account that has the platform administrator role.
Navigate to Global Configuration: Click the "Global Configuration" button. This button is typically located in the main navigation menu or within a dedicated settings/administration area. Its exact location may vary depending on your application's layout.
Select Model Configuration: Within the Global Configuration area, select the "Model Configuration" option.
Adding a Compute Vendor
Navigate to Model Configuration: (As described above).
Add Vendor: Click the "Add Vendor" or "New Vendor" button.
Select Vendor Type: Choose the vendor from a list of supported providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Cloud, AWS, Custom). If your vendor is not listed, contact General Intelligence for integration options.
Configure Vendor: Enter the required vendor credentials and configuration
Save Vendor: Click the "Add Model Vendor" button.
Enabling and Disabling Models
After adding a compute vendor, you can enable or disable specific models offered by that vendor.
Navigate to Model Configuration: (As described above).
Enable/Disable: Use the toggle switch, checkbox, or similar control next to each model name to enable or disable it.
Enabled: The model will be available for users in your organization.
Disabled: The model will not be available.
Save Changes: Ensure you save any changes you make to the enabled/disabled status of models. Click the "Save Global Configs" button to save the changes.
A refresh will be required for the changes to be seen.
Security Considerations
Vendor Credentials: Treat vendor credentials as highly sensitive credentials. Do not share them outside of the secure Model Configuration interface. Consider using a secrets management system.
Vendor Trust: Only add compute vendors that your organization trusts and has a formal agreement with.
Data Residency: Understand where your data is being processed and stored by each vendor, and ensure this complies with your organization's data privacy policies.
